Chris, Long before this list existed I used to try and solve all the problems that came up on the css-d list, I'd create a simplified test case of the problem area and work on it to figure out what was causing the problem, then try and find a fix for it. Replying back to the list with my findings had the benefit of assisting the original questioner and also getting peer review of my findings. Discussions would often bring further info to light and some of us would go away with more knowledge than we started with.
