Greetings,
I'm in the process of representing the date in Roman Numerals. I'm
concerned this may confuse potential users, and would like to display
an optional tooltip in the standard Gregorian YYYY format. Would it be
considered semantically appropriate to make use of the abbr tag?
<abbr title="The year 2007">MMVII</abbr>
In contrast, representing numbers in Roman Numerals isn't really an
abbreviation, is it? Perhaps someone could shed some light on this
dilemma.
