It has
full syntax highlighting but it's real power comes with "snippets", code
blocks you can program yourself.

Dreamweaver also has a Snippets panel with built in snippets and you can easily create your own in whatever category you wish and store them there, whether it be CSS snippets, javascript or server language code snippets. Beyond that, you can create behaviors and commands for javascript code and server behaviors for programming code, either packaging them as an MXP for portability or leave as behaviors for local use.

Many users don't realize, but it's extendible out the wazoo.
