It runs every tab in a separate process, plus one main one for the browser. This means a crash on a single page won't bring down the whole browser, it also means there is, for the first time in a browser, the possibility of seeing exactly how much memory and CPU power an individual website is using up (right click on the window bar and select Task Manager).
