The instructions on the ws.apache.org/wsif website involving building wsif
seem to be out-of-date:

1. There are no nightly builds where they are supposed to be.

Jeff,

builds were stopped some time in past - i will try to get them back running (it is not that easy ...)

untested one is here: http://cvs.apache.org/dist/axis/nightly/

2. If you obtain the sources from cvs according to the instructions for
non-committers, there are no build scripts or ant build.xml files.

i can see that build.xml and all other files are in CVS
http://cvs.apache.org/viewcvs.cgi/ws-wsif/java/

what is the location of CVS repository that you are looking?

Perhaps
there is a different cvs project that should be checked out to get these?

you should be looking at http://ws.apache.org/wsif/developers/cvs.html
that should work - in your CVS client set module to ""ws-wsif" and
CVSROOT to ":pserver:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/home/cvspublic"

3. Otherwise, presumably what you do at this point is to take a binary wsif
installation such as wsif-2.0, replace the source there by the source from
cvs, make sure you have the prerequisite jars in the right place, and then
build again. Is this right?

you should be able to build it from cvs when you gather few JAR files that we were not allowed to put in CVS (it is all in documentation)

Should I contribute revised instructions to the FAQ or the Building WSIF
document once I figure it out?

we should start Wiki page about those issues - if you want please edit
http://wiki.apache.org/ws/FrontPage/WSIF
(anybody can do after registering with Apache Wiki system in http://wiki.apache.org/ws/UserPreferences)

thanks,

alek
