I made an incorrect assumption with my quick fix. I assumed that the QIODevice::writeData() method could accept less than the whole number of bytes offered, I thought that the excess would be reoffered the next invokation. I need to re-think, this time with an internal buffer to decople the size of chunks of audio data offered from the sizes we need to process.
