Further info after trying on my Ubuntu system.
It was the 32-bit version of libgfortran.so.3 that was missing. Fixed by:
sudo apt-get install libgfortran3:i386

Hi Chuck,
If the 64 bit kvasd Joe compiled at omen.com is present, there are
no decodes after the first minute's batch.
CPU utilization goes to 100 per cent and stays there. Kvasd continues
at 100 per cent CPU utilization even if wsjtx is terminated. Rather than
improving sensitivity by 2 db it makes wsjtx deaf.
The downloadable kvasd is a 32 bit version. Hardly anyone runs 32 bit
Linux anymore.
This is not an optimum solution but should give you a work around.
64-bit Intel Linux is perfectly happy running 32-bit binaries, in fact
IMHO there is no convincing reason to have 64-bit binaries for small
programs that don't need 64-bit registers or pointers. Nevertheless
Linux distros often don't have the 32-bit system libraries that 32-bit
binaries link dynamically to. You can usually install the necessary
32-libraries to get things working, something like:
sudo apt-get install ia32-libs
or your distros equivalent. You can always remove the libraries when a
64-bit build of kvasd is available.

Hi Josh and all,
Have you been running all this time with no kvasd executable??? If
so, you are losing some 2 dB of sensitivity in JT65 mode.
Go to
http://www.physics.princeton.edu/pulsar/K1JT/wsjtx-doc/wsjtx-main-toc2.html
Click on the left-edge link to Section 3.2 (Linux installation) and
then on the link for downloading kvasd.
If this pre-built version does not run in your Linux, it may be
necessary for me to build one for you. As described in other recent
communications on the wsjt-devel list, when necessary I've had
others set up a login account for me on their machine. If gcc and
gfortran (or g95) are present, I can compile kvasd on that host in a
few minutes.

In previous wsjtx versions, the

Now it pops up on every decode cycle. Which is super
annoying....
WSJT-X v1.2.2 r3663
Linux FC19, x86_64, built from svn source....
