All,

Just a quick update on the Python Installer.

Using the ActiveState installer, you should not have to add Python
%PATH% entries.

Tested On: Vista-64
Needs Testing on: Win-XP, Win7/8

After un-installing my original Python.org install (described in the
first post below), I cleared my $USER path of any Python entries.

then:

ActiveState Python: 2.7.5
http://www.activestate.com/activepython/downloads

Download and run the installer.
- - Check terms box
- - Select: ActivePython >> Entire feature will be installed on local HD
- - I kept the default install location: c:\>Python27
- - When finished, open CMD window, at the prompt: python -V
- - Should render: Python 2.7.5

If this does not work for your Windows environment, please let me know.
