Hi Bill, Ulde and All

Remote controlling WSJT-X from within third party applications is no
furtherly discussed anymore so I guess nobody is too enthusiastic in
investing some efforts with it (grin). Ok, I agree in that not many people
will hook on to this even if we had it handy but sometimes the appetite
comes with the meal as we say here.

Despite the lack of time I have decided to do some experiments by myself and
I managed to check out the program sources and setup a development
environment over the weekend. After struggling with the details of the basic
setup for two days I am finally able to build the software and generate an
executable. The handling of the IDE is completely new to me as is the
programming language (at least in its object oriented form). However the
object library in Qt5 is well documented and I managed to enhance WSJT-X by
a simple TCP socket server today. By now I am even able to control two
controls of the GUI of the prototype (pushbutton "Enable Tx" and checkbox
"Tx even") from anywhere on the LAN. Therefore I am somewhat optimistic to
achieve my goal some day in the future J. But first some definition work has
to be done in order to end up with a useful "control language" between the
software components.

I will give feedback for those interested as soon as useful functionality is
available.

73, Peter
