Hi Sandro, If Ubuntu is your *Nix flavor of choice, I'd install the standard Ubuntu desktop first, then, add in Lubuntu or maybe Xubuntu desktops as they are much lighter resource wise. There are many to choose from.
I've finished moving JTSDK-Nix over to JTSDK SF so [2] and [3] are not longer valid.
