Hi Guys,

Mostly I just lurk here, but now I've got some input for you. I've been
using WSJT-X 1.3 for a year or so, mostly 6M and 160M. Tonight, I loaded
the posted public beta, 1.4 and fired it up. I'm using a K3 with a
hardware serial port (Quatech 2-port PCMCIA card) in a T61 Thinkpad
running XP Pro final version. I run both JT65 and JT9. No issues with
1.3 -- control of rig frequency works, but not split mode, so I use 1838
dial frequency and stay below about 3 kHz with JT9.

Problems with 1.4: I get error messages about rig control failure as
soon as I try to TX JT9 (I was set around 2500 Hz). Also, WSJT-X sends
to rig to non-sensical frequencies. For example, I hit Tune to get TX, I
hear a very LF audio tone (300 Hz?) in the radio monitor, but the rig is
not put into split mode (and I haven't asked for split mode). After
letting up on TX, the rig goes to 1836.5 kHz. I've hit combinations that
had me down around 1820.

I have no other software running that's doing rig control, and rig
control works great with Commander and N1MM Logger and the newer Logger
Plus. Neither of those programs is loaded.

Bottom line -- I've tried every combination of settings I can think of,
and I can't use 1.4. So I'm back to 1.3.

Thanks for your efforts. 73, Jim K9YC
