The WSJT Development Group is pleased to announce Release Candidate 4
for WSJT-X Version 1.4.0. Installation packages for Windows, Linux, and
OS X can be downloaded from the WSJT web site:

http://physics.princeton.edu/pulsar/K1JT/wsjtx.html

Release candidate 4 (wsjtx-1.4.0-rc4) is a highly capable and stable
program that has already undergone extensive field testing. Most of the
improvements relative to release candidate 2 (wsjtx-1.4.0-rc2) involve
rig control. We believe that essentially all rig-control problems
reported to us have been resolved.

For the record: release candidate 3 was for Macintosh only; it resolved
several OS X installation issues present in the rc2 package.

The new release candidate also includes a number of other minor bug
fixes. A full log of changes relative to rc2 is available here:

http://physics.princeton.edu/pulsar/K1JT/wsjtx-1.4.0-rc4.log

If you are now using WSJT-X v1.3 r3673 or WSJT-X v1.4 rc2, we heartily
recommend upgrading to the new release. It will likely become the
"official" Version 1.4.0 release very soon.

Looking ahead, many of you know that WSJT-X v1.5 is moving quickly
toward a first beta release. More than 100 users have built this
version themselves, from the open source code. They have been
exercising it thoroughly on the air, especially enjoying its improved
decoding speed and other new features. We expect to make installable
packages for WSJT-X-1.5.0-rc1 available fairly soon.
