Spent a lot of air time with this release candidate after many hours of v1.5.0-devel on-air testing.
Above all, v1.4.0-rc4 lives up to being a rock solid candidate as advertised. Couldn't even get a hiccup from it when intentionally prodding it to misbehave. While some may have issues with CAT compatibilities, I had none - having it control DX Commander which, in turn, controls the rig. I am spoiled, however, by v1.5.0-devel's much faster decoding and ability to handle signals in the -25 dB region. Those are lacking in v11.4.0-rc4. Decoding - especially when both JT65 and JT9 signals are being decoded - is just not that fast. Too, I've lost JT9 QSOs when my QSO partner's signal dropped below -22 dB (QRN is a small problem at this QTH). Now, I look forward to v1.5.0-devel reaching the rock solid operation of V1.4.0-rc4, and itself becoming a release candidate. 73 de Paul DU2/WA8UGN ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Dive into the World of Parallel Programming The Go Parallel Website, sponsored by Intel and developed in partnership with Slashdot Media, is your hub for all things parallel software development, from weekly thought leadership blogs to news, videos, case studies, tutorials and more.
