There is a 32-bit Debian installer package for WSJT-X v1.4.0-rc5 linked
from Joe's WSJT-X web page or you can download it from SourceForge:

http://www.physics.princeton.edu/pulsar/K1JT/wsjtx.html
https://sourceforge.net/projects/wsjt/files/wsjtx-1.4.0-rc5/

The User Guide has some instructions to install that on your Ubuntu system:

http://www.physics.princeton.edu/pulsar/K1JT/wsjtx-doc/wsjtx-main.html#INSTALL_LINUX

References to "rc2" should be substituted with "rc5".

There is also a source tarball snapshot of WSJT-X v1.4.0-rc5 which is
suitable for building on Linux if you wish.

Yes, v1.4.0 uses Qt for audio and that in turn uses pulseaudio. If you
have followed the instructions on installing dependencies in the User
Guide, you should have the necessary components.

A good test of the pulseaudio setup is to use pavucontrol utility to
check the available devices.

WSJT-X requires 48 kHz audio streams, your codecs will be fine for that.

This is definitely the correct place to ask.
