Hello All, Just thought I'd pass this along for Ubuntu users.
Ubuntu 15.04 has been officially released: Link: https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-announce/2015-April/000195.html Package Changes affecting WSJT applications: GCC.......: 4.9.2 Libc6.....: 2.21 Autoconf..: 2.69 Qt5.......: 5.4 Cmake.....: 3.0.2 Clang.....: 3.5.2 Python3...: 3.4.3 Pillow....: 2.7.0 NumPY.....: 1.8.2 The JTSDK package list had to be updated for the QT5 applications adding the package: libqt5opengl5-dev. The package list, as I have it now is: * qtbase5-dev libqt5serialport5-dev libqt5opengl5-dev libqt5multimedia5-plugins If your using a Qt4 based applications, you may need to install / set qt5-default. I export Qt5 select in my .bashrc. The old issue of appmenu-qt5 has been resolved. The new default behavior is to have the Menu Items in the app-menu rather than the desktop title bar. You still have to focus the mouse on the app-menu bar to have it appear, as it auto-hides, but seems to be working fine. The default Pillow installation (Pillow-v2.7.0) seems to be working fine for WSJT and WSPR. I did have to install kvasd-installer and link the binary from /usr/bin to the WSJT install folder. This will need updating in the WSJT build script. There were a number of behind the scene upgrades that do not affect the WSJT apps directly, but improve overall performance ; shift to using SystemD and things of that nature. The kernel will be updated to 4.0 at some point during the support cycle. The audio subsystem has not changed much. The same process I used for 14.04 | 14.10 is working on 15.04. You still need to add yourself to the dialout group and for myself, I manually select my USB sound device before running any Ham Radio Apps. FWIW, I think this release is much better usability wise than 14.10. If anyone has troubles with JTSDK on 15.04, send it to the devel-list. 73's Greg, KI7MT ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ BPM Camp - Free Virtual Workshop May 6th at 10am PDT/1PM EDT Develop your own process in accordance with the BPMN 2 standard Learn Process modeling best practices with Bonita BPM through live exercises http://www.bonitasoft.com/be-part-of-it/events/bpm-camp-virtual- event?utm_ source=Sourceforge_BPM_Camp_5_6_15&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=VA_SF _______________________________________________ wsjt-devel mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/wsjt-devel
