Hi Igor,

I have just found with Asus Xonar U7 USB sound card DT is by approximately 0.3 greater than with USB Sound Blaster:

Sound Blaster:

1300 -4 0.6 1327 # AK1P GM4SQM -15
1300 -8 0.1 1782 # IC8DAK UN7GBY MN83
1301 -3 0.3 1414 # R9MR DH1BBH -19
1301 -1 0.6 1780 # UN7GBY IC8DAK -11

----------------------------------------

XONAR U7:

1303 -7 0.6 1399 # R9MR DH1BBH -19
1303 -1 0.9 1761 # UN7GBY IC8DAK RR73
1304 -2 0.8 1313 # CQ GM4SQM IO75 Scotland
1304 -8 0.4 1761 # IC8DAK UN7GBY 73

While Xonar U7 has 10..15 dB better noise floor there are approximately 30 to 50% signals that are clearly seen in the waterfall are not decoded while using Xonar U7, and I suspecting the sound card processing delay is the issue. Tested it with WSJT-X r5133 version.
It is unlikely that a time delay of less than one second will impact decoding significantly, especially if your PC clock is accurate. How is your PC clock synchronized and do you have the capability of measuring any time offset?

One possible source of audio latency is any re-sampling done by the operating system, this can be eliminated by ensuring that the default sample for the sound card is 48 kHz. Older versions of MS Windows like XP and Vista are particularly poor at re-sampling audio streams.

Xonar U7 works with Asus drivers, Microsoft drivers do not support this sound card.

I wonder if it possible to let user compensate sound card delay in the settings?
