As you imply there is only 10 Hz resolution on the FT-817/857/897(D) 
radios so the corrected frequency calculated is rounded to the nearest 
10 Hz before being applied to the radio. Also when reading back from the 
radio a reverse frequency error correction is being applied to the radio 
dial frequency. The frequency read from the radio is effectively 
truncated so the round trip is not perfect due to rounding being applied 
one way and truncation the other.

The final adjusted frequency will be as close as possible to that 
required by the linear error correction. The value read back from the 
radio cannot be any more accurate than shown due to the resolution of 
the radio itself. Only if the correction factors are both zero or if 
there is zero slope correction and the intercept correction is an exact 
multiple of ten will the read back frequency be a mirror of the set 
frequency.
