Did you use Courier?  You may want to try Courier New and see if it behaves
the same.
Go into Control Panel/Fonts and look at your Courier Font.
On my Windows 7 I see Microsoft Corp as the Designer/foundry.  I wonder if
yours got replaced somehow.
Looking at Joe's picture he sent it appears Qt is centering the text which,
if it's fixed width font and the same length should all look the same. And
yours isn't doing that.
