It is hard to see how that can happen unless there was a pop up error 
message about not being able to access the ADIF log file.

All the fields that get logged are frozen at the point the Log QSO 
dialog appears, no action in he main window will change any of the Log 
QSO fields unless "Log QSO" is clicked again. The two files are written 
by the same function, one after another using the same frozen data values.
