I don't know a great deal about the way OS X Core Audio names devices but I would have thought that there is some way of renaming so that they can be differentiated. > > WSJTX is picking up the audio correctly from the SignaLink, no issues there, > however no matter which ‘USB Audio Codec’ device I select from WSJTX > Soundcard Output preferences, the program’s audio goes out to the mixer’s > sound card. On other operating systems the sound card drivers often have a built in "Stereo Mix" device which is basically a loop back connection that is useful for connecting audio software back to back, when it is used is directs all audio sources to all audio sinks. What you seem to be seeing is similar except that it also crosses multiple sound cards.
Is there a way of disabling the mixing to see if the extra sound card works more normally and can be selected uniquely as an output? > > OS X itself can differentiate between the two, if I chose one as the default > output device, system sounds go to the mixer while the other sends them to > the SignaLink so this seems to be something specific to how WSJTX references > the output audio device. This may well be an issues that only the Qt developers can address as I don't think there is anything available in the Qt audio interface we have access to from WSJT-X. > > Let me know if you need any additional information. > > Thanks! > > Scott D.
