Can you run rigctl -vvvvv (5 v's) and show the output?
I don't have Linux handy to test the USB stuff but I'm thinking that hamlib 
just needs to know the device ID.  Looks like it's probably the same protocol.

My radio is a SoftRock Ensemble RXTX. If I select Softrock from the drop down 
list of radios it fails and tells me Rig Failure / Unsupported CAT Type. Need 
to know if my rig is supported inHamlib3.
