A correctly executed installation of Smart SDR will not create “more than 100 
Windows audio devices.” DAX (Digital Audio eXchange) does provide eight virtual 
audio cables for transmit and receive, each with two “ends” (user device and a 
“reserved” device that connects to the radio), for up to 32 devices. 

Repeated installations without complete removal can lead to ghost devices 
populating the Windows Device Manager. I believe this is what Ville saw.
