Yes...that does seem to resolve the JTAlert behavior.

 Hi Mike, ok on the message boxes under the splash screen. The ones in main.cpp 
will block the splash screen closing indefinitely. I have made a change that 
should deal with all message boxes that are likely to appear behind the splash 
screen. I still do not understand the JTAlert issue, I cannot reproduce it here 
and your change makes no difference to the way that JTAlert starts and launches 
WSJT-X for me. I don't see why changing the window title on a window with no 
title makes a difference but it may be picking up the application name as a 
default, albeit hidden, window title. I have rearranged the order of 
initialization of the splash screen and the application name. Let me know if
