I don't consider the splash screen as a permanent feature of WSJT-X. In
fact, I find it rather annoying. It was added to an alpha release to
point users, gently but firmly, toward the "Release Notes". These were
needed in order to document (even though very briefly) a number of
features not yet described in the User Guide.
Unless someone convinces me it's really desirable, I'd say the splash
screen should be removed soon.
