Hi I dont use any of the WSJT modes at HF all my use is VHF upwards, and a lot of time is spent in the shack watching very weak beacons, either JT65b or JT4. What would be nice is a fast waterfall display, sorta like the fast display on MSK144 but vertical. At the moment I use the waterfall display on fldigi , but if I see anything that uses multiple tones, its a case of shutting it down and starting wsjx try a decode, which could be off listed frequency due to doppler shift if an aircraft reflection, or might not be whats expected as there are many beacons in Europe nearly on the same frequency and on similar beam headings from the UK. It would be nice to use just one piece of software to do this.
One great thing about wsjtx is that it can be run on any OS and small resourced ARM SBCs, unlike PI4 which can only be decoded on windows OS, and my qth is a windows free zone. Another is that it uses QT5, whereas many other SDRs etc are still lagging behind using QT4 and some even QT3, this does lead to a few headaches when trying to build with different versions of QT on the same machine. I noticed someone else has asked for a fast vertical display for MSK144. The work on WSJTX is greatly appreciated, thanks -- -- Best Seasonal wishes /73 Richard Bown Email : rich...@g8jvm.com HTTP : http://www.g8jvm.com nil carborundum a illegitemis ################################################################################## Ham Call: G8JVM .
