That's fine. I only put it on the menu since it was available and a bit more
obvious that the new feature is available.No great loss if it's not there.

Hi Mike, there is an issue with this on Mac OS X and maybe Linux with some
window managers. On Mac the application menu bar is merged with the system menu
bar and the shortcuts always get applied to the menu action first. This means
that the CTRL+M (actually Cmd+M on Mac) gets consumed by the menu bar even when
the plotting windows have focus. The issue boils down to trying to use the same
shortcut key sequence for a menu action and as a key sequence in a key press
event handler for a widget. The best solution I can think of is to not assign a
shortcut key sequence to the hide controls menu action, everything works as
intended like that. If you are ok with that I will make the required change.
