my Fedora 26 64-bit system doesn't give that presentation, I get:

This is with what I think is a default Fedora 26 installation. My system appears to use the Qt fusion style by default, yours would seem to be using some "native" widgets with that spin box rendering with '+' and '-' sub-controls. That may be graphics sub-system dependant (I am using a VirtualBox VM using the generic graphics driver emulation that provides) or window manager dependant. Have you customized your desktop or window manager, if so how as I would like to replicate the effect.

Can you also try starting wsjtx with a '--style fusion' command line argument to see if the fusion style changes your rendering.
