Seems selecting a predefined macro "sticks" once selected when using a standard callsign. But, when using a compound sign like W9MDB/QRP Tx 5 reverts to the standard 73 message on every message received.  So it's pretty much impossible to select a macro. I've got Full call in Tx3 selected but I don't think any of those selections should change the behavior. Once you select a Tx5 macro it should stick until you double-click the buttons.

Hi Mike,

this behaviour is deliberate. It is a bit contrived but it is trying to make sure that your QSO partner knows your full type 2 compound callsign. For example if you reply to a CQ or work a sked, how do they know you are /QRP? The answer depends on the option "Settings->Message generation for type 2 compound callsign holders" but WSJT-X current ignores that and assumes you might not have sent your prefix/suffix before Tx5.
