While I did use Call 1st when it was first introduced, as soon as the mode became popular I unchecked that box and never went back. I get 3-4, sometimes more replies if I CQ. Directional CQs have become the norm. > I call CQ, two stations answer, Call 1st 'engages' with one of the stations, > but I want the other one. Why stop the TX? Just double click the right one and I would think it would change immediately. I’m assuming this still works with Call 1st turned on, but I have not tried it with a newer version. If not, it should IMHO. Can anyone confirm? I’ll try it when I get a chance. > Would it be possible to override the Call 1st choice, on the fly, by double > clicking on my preferred station? You don’t have to start transmitting at the very beginning of the sequence unless the signal is pretty weak. I’ve experimented and found I can decode a signal with either the first or last 5 seconds of it missing reliably. I haven’t tried cutting both ends, but I doubt it would work. If you’re a few seconds late coming in, you should still make it unless you’re really weak to them. 73, Gary - AG0N ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Check out the vibrant tech community on one of the world's most engaging tech sites, Slashdot.org! http://sdm.link/slashdot _______________________________________________ wsjt-devel mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/wsjt-devel
