We put a lot of effort into making sure we provide effective
click-to-install packages for Windows and OS X. We also try to make
sure there are straightforward paths to installing and using WSJT-X in
any of the wide range of *nix flavors.
As you say, it's tough to release binary packages that cover the wide
range of linux releases. We try to make it easy for other packagers to
do this last step. And we take the point of view that many (most?) ham
Linux users are rather more sophisticated, computer-wise, than the much
larger number using Win or Mac. Sometimes they need to do some of the work.
We're always looking for new volunteers interested in helping with any
of these tasks.
