Joe, Congrats to you and the whole WSJT-X team for receiving this year's Yasme Excellence Award. And thanks for acknowledging us folks on the reflector who bombarded you with suggestions, corrections, complaints, etc. as the WSJT-X software got better and better.
I'm sure that all involved in its development are pleased to see how widely accepted the FT8 mode has become and how well it works. As an example, a few evenings ago, on 40 Meters, I worked ZA/IK2RLM in Albania for country #183 using the FT8 mode. We were both running low power but the amazing thing was that his antenna was a magnetic loop on the balcony of his apartment! Keep up the good work. We DXers are still waiting to see FT8 decodes from the presently active VK9MA DXpedition on Mellish Reef. Were the DXpedition features developed in time for them to use? 73, Rich - K1HTV = = = Date: Wed, 8 Nov 2017 15:38:48 -0500 From: Joe Taylor <[email protected]> To: WSJT software development <[email protected]> Subject: [wsjt-devel] WSJT Development Team Honored Message-ID: <[email protected]> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8; format=flowed Hi all, I write to share the good news that the WSJT Development Group has been awarded the Yasme Excellence Award for 2017. A few details can be found here: http://www.yasme.org/yasme-excellence-awards/ http://www.arrl.org/news/yasme-foundation-announces-excellence-awards-and-supporting-grant The award specifically cites major contributors G4WJS, K9AN, KI7MT, W9MDB, PY2SDR, and IV3NWV, as well as K1JT. But everyone who reads this list knows that the team includes many additional members who have contributed code, documentation, test reports, and suggestions for improvement. We (the callsigns listed above) have decided to donate the $1000 cash award to the ARRL Spectrum Defense Fund. Congratulations to all, and thanks again for your continued support of this project! -- 73, Joe, K1JT ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Check out the vibrant tech community on one of the world's most engaging tech sites, Slashdot.org! http://sdm.link/slashdot _______________________________________________ wsjt-devel mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/wsjt-devel
