I have FT950, but it is the same..How you key PTT? Do you have any interface or
trying direct connect?
There can be issue with impedance on audio output. Try to put abt. 100nF
capacitor in series between output (I have also input) and data in (out) pin..
I have fit them inside the jack connectors. Yes, the best way is to put also
audio transformer to the both routes. But if you have CAT cable directly to the
PC, the ground is connected, so the transformers loose effect.
I do have PTT, CW and FSK all from one single RS232 port, all keyed with
transistors (all fit into db9 cover). But CAT commands should work too, just
with higher delays..
I use USB mode in program, it allows me open RX filter to full 3kHz and have no
problem with freq. setting. I use in radio menu shift 1350 Hz, due bpsk/Rtty
switching easily without knob tunning from mmvari in logger32.
So check tx level settings in radio menu also! That's also one of the reasons..
I will check 2morrow my settings and let you know..

Jack
I wonder if anyone can give me some advice on using FT8 with an FTdx1200
connected through the data jack.
I’ve been trying to sort this out but am not getting anywhere.
If I plug a headset into the Mac’s audio out I hear the correct modulation
sound coming from FT8.
But when I route the audio out to the data in pin on the FTdx1200 all I hear on
the transmitted signal is noise!
This is true whether I select USB or USB data as the mode on the radio.
