Hi Gary,

GUI design is trivial when you're dealing with a static mock-up that doesn't actually do anything. Implementing a functional and attractive user interface is far from trivial, especially in a program like WSJT-X that operates in many different "modes" with very different goals.

Active contributors to WSJT-X comprise a tiny group of people -- individuals with many other demands on their time. It should be fairly obvious that our top priorities lie much more often in areas of program capability and functionality rather than creating a "pretty face". Typically we work first on new capabilities, leaving GUI design issues until "some later time".

On the other hand, we like pretty faces, too! We're always on the lookout for potential contributors with skills and interests in GUI design.

One more UI suggestion: when we’re trying to identify blobs on the waterfall, it’s not easy to figure out (at a glance) the exact audio frequencies since most of the scale markers are unlabelled.  I’d suggest changing from this …

I’ve deliberately chosen a smaller font size in light grey so the intermediate values are less prominent than the round 500’s.
