...not a bug!
"An amateur callsign consists of a one- or two-character prefix, at least one
of which must be a letter, followed by a digit and a suffix of one to three letters."
In your \bin\ directory you can find a "ft8code.exe" (open command / DOS window)
to check your call sign with messages.
Example: ft8code "CQ 4X70E KM71"
Message Decoded Err? Type
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. CQ 4X70E KM71 CQ 4X70E KM71 0 6 Free text
Call1: 0100101100000100010001010011 Call2: 0010100110011000011111001000
Grid: 1001100010111111 3Bit: 000 CRC12: 101100101010
Channel symbols:

As you can see, the call is considered as 'Free text' max. 13 characters in the message.
Would you try to send me a report:
ft8code "OE1MWW 4X70E -12"
Message Decoded Err? Type
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. OE1MWW 4X70E -12 OE1MWW 4X70E 0 6 Free text truncated
Call1: 1001000001101100111110100000 Call2: 1100001100000110101101000010

Only 'OE1MWW 4X70E' will be sent, because it is 'Free text truncated'
So, there is no way, to use a special call sign in WSJT-X

I am using WSJT-X v1.9.0-rc3 r8576 The program does not accept my special call sign 4X70E. (that is a ZERO after the 7). This is a special call sign for the 70th year anniversary of the State of Israel. It appears that after the 4X7 the program will not accept another digit, only a letter. 73, Jim 4X1RU |
