A number of things:
1. you can use the CQ FD XXX Grid as the call,
Doesn’t have to be the ‘CQ’ prefix:
FD W1XYZ 3AEMA
And, you don’t have to put the grid
If you do it the way I suggest, the other station can still do a auto
sequence response. Your line does not allow for someone to double
click as the system will not recognize it as a proper CQ call. The
grid is part of the auto sequence, plus counts for the other ARRL
contest going on .. Grid Chase.
2. How are you going to tell people to NOT use auto sequence
Maybe you could turn it automatically OFF when the FD option is ON.
Same as Fox and Hound sets options.
Field day occurs once a year, DXPeditions happen every month, in some
months, almost every week. Changing the program to add another set of
requirements for a once a year event that's mainly a US event is not
worth the time, nor the time trying to reply to issues being raised by
the inadvertent setting of the 'option'.
3. Trash the 'tu cq fd' and just include the required info in the
last message and include a 73.
This may allow users who don't know about turning off auto sequence
to actually work someone on FD.
