I was trying to work an FT8 contact on the Isle of Man on 20M (at ATNO for me) a few minutes ago when the following happened:

At the same time that the dialog box came up to log the contact (from JTAlertX), another dialog box came up about the “Should you be in NA Contest Mode”.  That box came up underneath the Log box but slightly higher so that I could click on the top bar under the log box.  Unfortunately, clicking on the top bar did not bring that box to the top so I could dismiss it.  It also could not be moved to a part of the screen where I could address it.   Attempting to stop the program was equally frustrating as that unreachable dialog box had to be dismissed first.

I didn’t want to kill JTAlertX as it was trying to log an ATNO for me.  But finally I killed JTAlertX causing all of the boxes to drop.  I was able to pull the QSO from the WSJT-X ADIF log, which was my only record of the QSO, and import it to my logger.

If you are going to put up a dialog box that has to be answered (which by the way, it was a false alarm), then that box must be on top of everything, even boxes from other processes, and it must be movable.  If it had been buried completely under the JTAlertX Log box, then I would have had no idea why I couldn’t enter log information and dismiss the log box.  It would have looked like a frozen system.

Dave,

The prompt to Log the QSO is coming from WSJT-X NOT JTAlert. JTAlert never prompts you to log the QSO, there is no such code in JTAlert.
