Thanks for the quick response.
I did leave out one fact, which is: In MSK144 mode, selection of ARRL Field
Day or ARRL RTTY Roundup causes the message texts to change to the formats
appropriate to those contests. (But it does not show the red 'flag'
message.)
So my note was really to report that WSJT-X is not consistent in its
handling of the ARRL Field Day and ARRL RTTY Roundup in MSK144 mode.
If it doesn't make sense to select those options, it doesn't make sense to
allow them to be selected.
If they are allowed, they should be handled consistently.

From the Quick-Start Guide to WSJT-X 2.0, top of page 10:
"MSK144 cannot be used with the ARRL Field Day or ARRL RTTY Roundup message
formats."
This restriction is, of course, by design. MSK144 is forbidden at HF, so
useless in the RTTY Roundup; and why would anyone want to use MSK144 for
Field Day?
