I installed my first version of 2.0 (rc5) about 3 hours before
the test so contest mode was new to me. I renamed my
"wsjtx_log.adi" file to force wsjt-x to create a new one. I also
cleared the non-existent Cabrillo file as per the readme.
I had to go into Preferences->Colors and enable color coding for
"new call" and "new call on band" to be able to see whether I
had worked a station before. I think this might be a bug in the
default settings. In any case, color coding in contest mode
should work "out of the box".
I am used to having the Auto Sequencer pick up someone calling
me in the receive segment before I am going to send CQ and
instead, responding to that station. I didn't see it happen in
Contest mode, but maybe I wasn't lucky enough to have that deep
a pileup. I expect that K1JT did have that much of a pileup. (I
was treating him as the rare multiplier.)
Otherwise, I'm willing to believe that my problems were those of
a first time user, and not the software.
