opposite so they point to what you do, i.e. that "Set RX frequency to
TX frequency" points from RX to TX. It took me some time to get used
to making things "wrong" to get the right result. :-)

this is an endian issue

There is no correct resolution that satisfies everyone. You'll just have
to learn the convention and put up with it.
