On about 10% of my QSO’s in the FT8 Roundup, an error message would pop up
indicating that there was a problem with the log. The message showed the sent
and received exchanges, and most of the time those data fields were totally
blank, so I typed in the data by hand.
Toward the end of the contest, I noticed that, even though the error message
had popped up, if I scrolled down to the last QSO in the log, the data was
already properly in there, with all of the fields properly filled in. This
problem was exacerbated by two other problems – the last line of the log not
being visible, and the logging window not automatically scrolling past QSO #256.
The “problem with logging” message seemed to appear when someone showed up with
a duplicate/late RR73 message, but I’m not 100% sure about that.
After typing all of those sent and received exchanges by hand, it turned out
that I had entered a ton of dupes into the log.
