This is an embarrassingly naïve question because I haven’t done any programming
since about 1983. Please excuse the gross oversimplification.

I’m interesting in the decode cycle of FT8, and in scanning a large number of
the .f90 routines, it looks like ft8decode.f90, among several others, must
generate a number, or group of numbers that is then translated by the Qt family
of programs into the waterfall display. The result is a 50Hz x 15 second cell
whose pixels are activated to some level, giving a picture of transmissions
being received in the passband. Bill/G4WJS gave me some great initial
information which, of course, sparked new questions.

I would like to tap into this “number” and load it into excel to see a value
for each of these 50x15 signal units. My interest would be in integrating them
in the same way that other spectra from, say, FT-NMR or FT-IR (I’m a chemist)
can be.

Is this even possible, or is the nature of the decode output prior to waterfall
display not of that nature?

Thanks very much…
