Use Case: The audio input source is interrupted causing the waterfall and
decoding to stop. Program gives no indication otherwise something happened.

  1. Currently it required restarting the program (and lose all screen
history) or toggling the audio input source (preserve screen history, like QSO
in progress) or its left/right/mono setting to restart decoding.
  2. This is guaranteed to happen if you lose a RDP session, even momentarily
(internet hiccup, can be as fast a 2 seconds). I believe there are hooks into
the audio chain for possible audio redirection that I assume are touched on
session start and end, even if I am not redirecting audio.
  3. Loss for other reason like a bumped connector.

Suggestions: Re-initialize the last known good audio source.

  1. Suggest a graduated timer approach. Retry immediately and then if
unsuccessful set gradually increasing retry interval until and ultimate timeout.
  2. Print to screen and file reason why (text or icon, flashing monitor in
red perhaps).
  3. File text would include timestamps for later troubleshooting.

Tnx!
