I have been fighting this problem for months so I don't know if it is a
Microsoft update or not. When it strikes me nothing I do to either SSDR or
WSJT-X makes any difference in allowing wsjt-x to transmit. Closing WSJT-X with
the red X at this stage only moves WSJT-X to the background tasks section of
the TASK Manager Window, and you can not restart WSJT-X(because it is still
running) until you shut down WSJT-X using the End Task command in Task
Manager. When the problem shows up Open the Task Manager Window and look at the
CPU usage column (in the Apps section next to WSJT-X). Mine is indicating
between 15 to 30 percent usage. (under normal operations it is usually about 1
to 5 percent). Click on the WSJT-X
Red X to close the program and the WSJT-X program will move from the Task
Manager Apps section to the Background Tasks section and continue to run tat he
high CPU usage percentage. At this point you can only shut it down with the END
TASK command (right click on the wsjt-x program on the Task Manager window).
WSJT-X closes then you can restart the program normally. It will also work if
you restart the computer, but that is a PIA.Hope someone can figure it out
because it hits me 2 to 3 times a day.Al, N4ABThis response is a lot longer
than I meant it to be.

Hello Dick-This may or may not help your issue;
There is a problem in V2.4.9 that causes the Tune button not to work.I have
found the problem when operating multiple panadapters that are on different
modes.IE Working CW on a panadapter and then clicking TX on WSJT that's on a
different panadapter. The fix is to change the mode on the FT8 slice to a
different mode and then back to DIGU.
So when you notice the problem on FT8, change the mode from DIGU to DIGL and
then back to DIGU.Hope this helps.

I recently had an update installed by Microsoft.I now find that if I leave FT8
running for a time, I can no longer Transmit (Tune buttondoes not work). If I am
active on FT8 all is well, so I can only surmise Microsoft has re-arranged
myComputer.
Any ideas what I should look for ?
