Hi Phil,
we use Hamlib for direct CAT control of rigs, and yes there is a driver
for the IC-9700 in the pipeline. In the meantime you can try either the
IC-910 or the IC-7300 drivers, you will need to change the rig CI-V
address to the one for the model you choose.
