Michael Forgot to mention that these were all from my I5 laptop running Ubuntu 18.04.2 and ICOM7300. I have the default NTPD minpoll/maxpoll set to 64 sec/1024 sec so the clock is updated fairly regularly.
I know that there's been discussion about the more critical timing requirement for FT4 as opposed to FT8, but I thought that I had some real data to illustrate the difference. I think that the clear difference in the variance between FT8 and FT4 illustrates the point. The list is "short" because I mostly run the laptop with Win10, but was running the Linux version of -rc5 to see if there were any issues with Linux vs Windows (I didn't see any). So the number of entries is relatively short. (BTW my first entry in the ALL.TXT file is from 2014). I'd be glad to continue this analysis if there's anything useful that isn't already known. dave k2lyv
