WSJTX v2 will not accept my 3DA0VV callsign?? The full licence for The "Kindom of Eswatini" (The countries name has changed, make sure you get the country name right) is 3DA0(Zero)##  for unrestricted licence and 3DA1## for restricted license.

This is why no on is hearing 3DA on FT8. Can anyone shed some light on this?

From the WSJT-X 2.0 User Guide,

http://www.physics.princeton.edu/pulsar/K1JT/wsjtx-doc/wsjtx-main-2.0.1.html#PROTOCOLS

"A standard amateur callsign consists of a one- or two-character prefix, at least one of which must be a letter, followed by a digit and a suffix of one to three letters."

Swaziland, "The Kingdom of Eswatini", is the only country we know of that does not conform to this format for amateur radio callsigns. We have recognized this issue since about 2003.

Many years ago we implemented a fix so that 3DA0xx calls could be used SEAMLESSLY for JT65 and all other WSJT modes that use 72-bit messages. In principle a comparable fix could be implemented for the MSK144, FT8, and FT4 -- the modes that use 77-bit messages. We have not done this because until now nobody has asked for it.

I'm not sure what you mean by "WSJTX v2 will not accept my 3DA0VV callsign". As things stand, you can set MyCall = 3DA0VV and make QSOs using any mode. In MSK144, FT8, and FT4 your call will be treated as a nonstandard callsign, with consequences described here in the User Guide:
http://www.physics.princeton.edu/pulsar/K1JT/wsjtx-doc/wsjtx-main-2.0.1.html#COMP-CALL

If you (or others) intend to be a presence in the FT8 world, we can make a special effort to support Kingdom of Eswatini callsigns as a special case.
