this is due to a rather awkward implementation. There is currently a project
underway to refactor the WSJT-X source code base, the first target is to
improve the implementation details that cause this issue and many other
related ones. The intent is to include AP decoding indications in ALL.TXT
but not to show it by default in the UI, although the option to drill down
into decodes to view detailed information like this will probably be
provided.
Why not show them by default? I find that info interesting ("why could
it decode that even when it was only the last 5s of the period?").

Hi Christoph,
we are a long way from the point where we make changes to the UI display
of decodes, there is a lot of internal refactoring to be completed
before that. One possibility could be to have an optional column that
includes AP information that the user can enable if they wish. The key
point is that the decoders gather a lot of information while doing their
job but much of that gets discarded before we get to the point where the
decode is printed on the screen, the goal of the current refactoring is
to have most if not all of that currently discarded information
available for display if necessary.
