In WSJTX Advanced menu settings, there is a button to click to
put the program into or out of contest mode. When it is in
contest mode a RED box saying NA VHF contest (or something
similar) shows up on the logging page. That box disappears if
it is not in contest mode. I think this box should actually be
a toggle switch, like the odd even button, allowing a quick
switch from the front logging panel instead of having to go
back to settings/advanced to switch modes. I am not on the
WSJT reflector, but if someone here is, please submit this as
a feature request!
I will add, non-contest mode contacts with a full exchange
should be logged in the contest window and the resulting
Cabrillo file.
I operated with just wsjtx, so I didn't have much contest
support from the software. (But there is enough there to have
fun.) The most important missing item is:
Highlighting for grid multipliers: I can highlight new grid
squares, but that is a 4 character grid square and multipliers
in this contest were a 2 character grid square. This request is
a bit of a can of worms, but a general mechanism to use an
external program to make the color decisions might be easy enough.
