Bill G4WJT and group,

Here is how to reproduce the problem as I described earlier today:

Rig:  Kenwood TS-590SG using USB rig control
WSJT in FT8 mode

Turn dial on radio to 14090

Go to File->Settings and hit the OK button on ANY Tab Page (General, Radio, Audio, Tx Macros, Reporting, Frequencies, Colors, Advanced)

The rig will QSY to 14074

This is especially annoying when I see a spot for a DXpedition in F/H mode.  I first tune to their frequency to find out if I can hear/see them. When I do, I go to settings and go into Hound mode, hit OK, and boom, I am QSYed to the standard FT8 freq.

Thanks for looking into this & 73,

Tim,

my call is G4WJS.

I thought I addressed this issue.

As I said above, a CAT reset will cause a shift to a working frequency, to be specific the lowest working frequency available for the current band and mode combination. Going to "Settings" and making a change can cause a CAT reset.

Please try my suggestion, which is used successfully by many users, to create a separate configuration for FT8 DXpedition Hound mode. Once set up you can tailor the working frequencies in that configuration to those of the latest DXpedition you are chasing. Switching configurations is quicker, i.e. less mouse clicks, than entering the Settings and making the change there. returning to "normal FT8 mode or whatever your preference is requires another simple configuration switch. You also have the settings options "General->Monitor returns to last used frequency" and "Monitor off at startup" to fine tune exactly what happens when you switch configurations or start the application from cold.
