Hello WSJT,

I am having problems with CAT control between WSJT-X and my Icom IC-7800.

Previously, I was able to control the IC-7800 from WSJT-X without any
problems. But now, I cannot control the radio from WSJT-X.

I am using WSJT-X version 2.1.1. The computer operating system is Windows
10.

Currently, when I specify the radio setting in WSJT-X as "none," I am able
to cause the "Tune" button to make the IC-7800 to go into transmit. Also,
in "none," WSJT-X properly decodes FT-8 and transmits properly.

But when I specify in the "Radio" settings for the IC-7800, the Tune no
longer works and also I sometimes get an error message in WSJT-X that says
there is a hamlib error in reading the radio's vfo (or something similar).
But the incoming FT-8 is still properly decoded.

I know that my port designation and baud rate are correct because they are
the same that my logging program uses and which continues to properly
control the radio. (When using WSJT-X, the logging program is not running
so that the COM port will not be seized by that logging program.)

My guess is that WSJT-X has a setting somewhere that is not properly
engaged. Further, I believe that the reason that the "Tune" does not work
is that the CAT function is locked up when WSJT-X is trying to communicate
with the radio.

What do you suggest I try?

Another issue: when I bail out of WSJT-X and then try to again launch it, I
get the following error message:

I can only re-launch WSJT-X by using Task Manager to stop wsjtx.exe.

What is going on?

If you are available by telephone, my landline number is (818) 716-0888 and
my mobile phone is (818) 970-4826.

Thank you & 73,

Mark, K6FG
